January Meeting 2018

Hey hey, welcome back to another exciting year of modelling in S scale and what a year it's shaping up to be. For the first meeting of 2018, it was decided to have an alphabet roundup (I think the word "extravaganza" was thrown around a couple of times) of different steam locomotives and a 2 minute talk on each regarding the locomotive's uniqueness. If the caliber of the modelling shown tonight is any indication of whats to come, 2018 is shaping up to be a very good year indeed.

An overall view of all the locomotives on display.

Westrail WQN with Sulfur Containers

Following on from my post back in March 2016 regarding the WQN flat wagon, have almost completed the first pair of sulfur containers, they are now just waiting on tarpaulins.

They were 3D printed from a CAD model I created based on photos of the prototype and knowing the.length and width of a standard 20’ container.

As shown in the last photo, free standing details were added using styrene strip and brass wire, before painting, decaling and weathering.
